It is loaded up with ingredients that deliver moisture, antioxidants, and an energy boost every time you slather it on. The green tea and peppermint are fantastic year round but are especially enjoyable in the winter when the smell wakes you up and keeps dry skin at bay. Make it for yourself or fill up a few pretty jars for a great Christmas or birthday gift.
Peppermint and Matcha Green Tea Body Butter
Ingredients
½ cup / 115g shea butter
¼ cup / 55g coconut oil
2 tbsp beeswax pellets
1 tsp Vitamin E oil
½ - 1 tbsp Matcha Green tea powder
8-10 drops peppermint essential oil
You will also need a food mixer with metal mixing bowl and a minimum of 4x 4oz Mason jars.
Directions
1. Melt coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax in a pan over a medium-low heat, stirring frequently.
2. Remove pan from the heat and pour into the metal bowl of a food mixer. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes until the top begins to gel over and the mixture is completely cool.
3. Remove from the fridge, add Vitamin E oil. Whisk on a high speed for 5 minutes.
4. Continue beating with the speed reduced to medium while adding in Matcha green tea powder, starting with a couple of teaspoons and adding until the desired colour shade is reached.
5. Add peppermint essential oil a couple of drops at a time until the scent is as strong as you like.
6. Scoop mixture into a 4oz jars with lids. Add a Christmas or birthday ribbon and handmade tag to each jar if you are gifting the Peppermint Matcha Whipped Body Butter.
