Cheap Family Days Out this Half-Term

The next half-term holiday is nearly upon us and parents up and down the country are wondering just how they can afford to keep kids enteratiend all week on a limited budget.

With just a few precious school-free days, the kids do need to be kept entertained of course, but there's no need to break the bank.

Free Days Out

There are plenty of days out to be had for free, for example your local country park, beach or woodland.  Whatever the weather, hop on a bus or train, or jump in the car and get out to explore.  You probably won't have to go far to find somewhere new and full of fun.

Scour the local paper, look on Facebook, ask around or simply stop to read local billboards and you'll find a host of fetes and fairs this Bank Holiday weekend and throughout June.  A wonderful way to enjoy the English countryside at its best, you'll also find delicious local food, crafts, children's activities, and even a find or two on the bric-a-brac stall.


Get on Your Bike

Drag the bikes and scooters out and go for a long ride.  Stick a picnic in your backpack and you'll be able to go even further afield.

Go Hunting

Whether you prefer simple orienteering, a treasure hunt of your own divising, or geocaching, spend a day on the hunt.  You'll all love working together, plus fresh air and exercise will improve health and tire them out!
